E5: How I Opened my First Restaurant in Mayfair with Mehak Kansal of Bindas Eatery
Loading
/

In this episode, we speak to Mehak Kansal, owner of Bindas Eatery, a delicious Indian street food restaurant, inspired by the dishes sold at foodie hubs throughout India. After completing stints in a legal career and working in the family business, Mehak followed her passion for food by starting blogs.

She then received a present to host a supper club which meant designing a menu, selling tickets, cooking dishes and hosting a dinner party which received rave reviews.

Mehak’s popularity grew as she entered a cooking competition where she won the 2018 Westfield Food Entrepreneur Award, which resulted in her receiving a prime pop-up location at Westfield Shopping Centre White City for her to go to market with her fabulous food creations.

Mehak opened Bindas Eatery in a thriving Mayfair location but, just as the rest of the hospitality industry, has been battling with the challenges caused by the pandemic. She has since used the time to offer online cooking classes and looks forward to growing the Bindas Eatery by opening up more locations.
