Loading
/

In today’s episode we are speaking to Gursevak Shergil, also known as Tony, who is the CEO of BritAsia TV. BritAsia TV is a popular TV channel, targeting the young Asian demographic, broadcasting on Sky and FreeView in the UK, as well as expanding to India, Canada, Europe and Africa.

Tony’s first foray into the world of TV and Media came when he launched Sikh Channel, the first TV channel dedicated to Sikhs in the world. He then held various senior roles at broadcasting organisations including Sikh TV before wanting to explore TV from a cultural perspective which led him to bid for and successfully purchase BritAsia TV.

BritAsia TV has grown from 100,000 viewers from when Tony took over to over 1m viewers per month and is popular for its dedication to Asian and Urban Music, latest entertainment news, interviews and chat shows.

Tony also held the first Punjabi Film Awards outside of India, held at Grosvenor House on Park Lane. Tony is a big believer in supporting local communities, and has recently launched BritAsia Fund, a project born during the Pandemic which aims to teach and guide start-up businesses and develop a roadmap for entrepreneurs to realise their ambitions and dreams.
